What is Bitpunk NEO RPG?

Bitpunk NEO is a tabletop roleplaying game set in the Cyberburn universe.  The main genre of the game is cyberpunk, which means cybernetic technology, computers, artificial intelligence, and mega-corporations whose power is only matched by their corruption.  The secondary genre of the game is horror, cosmic horror to be more specific.  Cosmic horror means alienation, bizarre and eldritch encounters that can shake the sanity of those that experience them, and monsters beyond human comprehension.

Magic and the supernatural also exist in this game.  Magic taps into a character's soul to fuel powers beyond the remit of technology and mundane human limitations.  Magic comes in two main forms: spells and martial arts.  Spells use words and gestures to perform seemingly miraculous feats like summoning fire from the sky or healing a wound in an instant.  Martial arts can also perform similar feats but generally focus on attack and defense in combat.  They don't require special words or gestures but they do require the character to spend special resources called focus points and rage points.

The World of Cyberburn

In a different Earth in an alternate timeline, the Bismark-Tekunoroji Corporation's research into AI bears fruit: Taijin, a super-intelligent computer program that births a cybertechnological explosion.  Humanity begins exploring and colonizing the Solar System as urban decay and environmental collapse ravage Earth back home.  Cyber ninjas, mutants, and kung fu thugs wage war on the streets of Earth and in the new Mars Colony.  Rumors persist of alien invaders showing up in various parts of the Solar System persist, and scientists make a shocking and terrifying discovery in the mines of Mars.
